Charming shapely violin in my possession since 1980 when bought from The Violin Shop in Bournemouth. Golden-amber oil varnish, beautifully intricately close-flamed maple two-piece back. Label says "Nach Antonius Stradivarius Cremona gebaut - Deutscher Arbeit". It was an already old violin when I bought it in 1980. Very slightly narrower neck makes it extremely friendly and easy to play - real bonus if you have small hands like me. Perfect-5th double-stops are no problem.Would suit advancing player or timid student wishing to develop their technique without ease.Sweet tone, suitable for chamber or orchestral work. Sound is gentle on the ear but has good crisp projection. Premier strings like Evah Pirazzi or higher tension metal strings (eg Warchal (blue), Helicore, Dogal etc) would deliver more robust and powerful sound while keeping the sweetness. Would be substantial enough as a solo intrument up to small chamber orchestra dimensions.A very cherished possession for 30 years, I would be sad to let it go but glad for you to benefit from its friendliness. Valuation by The Violin Shop in Blackpool at £550, I am willing to accept £100 less. A lightweight polypropylene/canvas case and/or good brazilwood bow are also available at a modest complimentary increase in price. Buyer pays for delivery costs (shouldn't be more than £15 unless special delivery required).
