Handsome well-made 2004 viola from Romania in rich amber varnish, immaculate condition - warm velvety tone and very nice to handle. Perhaps the best feature of this instrument is its friendly response, as it is very easy to play, sporting ease of reach in the higher positions.Professionally set up with a new good quality bridge by The Violin Shop ("Harry George"), this instrument would suit a violinist transferring their skills onto viola, or a viola player with smallish hands who doesn't want to struggle with a larger instrument, especially in higher positions. It handles just like a slightly large violin.Not suitable as a dedicated solo instrument, it would be fine for chamber or orchestral ensemble playing, or as a training instrument for those awkward high positions.
